Purchase Manager

Your responsibilities

As a Purchase Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Purchasing Strategy and Management

  • Define and implement a purchasing strategy for Operations aligned with the company’s purchasing policies.
  • Actively monitor the paper and printing supplies market to identify and anticipate price developments, ecological trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Negotiate supply contracts with suppliers and service providers, ensuring the best conditions (price, deadlines, quality, payment terms).
  • Develop a sustainable purchasing strategy, integrating environmental constraints (FSC, PEFC, recycling, waste reduction, etc.).

Supplier Management and Tender Processes

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers (both local and international) to meet needs and continuously secure the best conditions.
  • Draft and manage tender processes to select the most competitive suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain an up-to-date price list (for informational purposes) for various materials to provide Sales with a reference tool.
  • Manage supplier relationships, evaluate their performance, and ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Audit suppliers regarding quality, regulatory compliance, and CSR.

Procurement and Stock Management

  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Production, and Logistics to anticipate purchasing needs based on client orders and production cycles, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted supply chain.
  • Place orders based on forecasted data and logistical requirements defined in the ERP system, handle the administrative processing of purchase orders, and track them until goods are received.
  • Analyze and integrate transport and storage constraints into procurement management, optimize inventory management, and minimize storage costs while ensuring a sufficient safety stock level.

  Cost Optimization and Budget Monitoring

  • Analyze purchasing costs and identify areas for optimization.
  • Monitor and manage a purchasing budget while adhering to the company’s financial objectives.
  • Define performance KPIs and produce regular reports on purchases and cost evolution.

Compliance and Quality

  • Ensure that purchased products comply with the purchase orders.
  • Guarantee compliance with European regulations regarding raw materials.
  • Ensure adherence to ecological requirements and environmental certifications.
  • Monitor incidents related to purchased materials or services (via the Speos quality portal), take necessary actions with suppliers, and communicate internally to reduce impacts and prevent future incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with Speos’ policies regarding storage, DRP, and BCP, and if needed, identify alternatives (e.g., DRP storage with suppliers) to ensure service quality, cost optimization, and Speos’ margins.

Your profile

As a Purchase Manager, you have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commercial Sciences or equivalent.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience as a purchaser in the printing and/or paper sector (Graphic Arts/routing).
  • Strong knowledge of and an excellent network within the printing industry.
  • Experience in managing budgets (> €1 million).
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Trilingual proficiency in French / Dutch / English.

And you also have :

  • Strong analytical and reporting skills and experience in process implementation.
  • Creativity, optimization skills, excellent communication abilities, and strong organizational skills.
