What is e-Invoicing ?
E-invoicing, or electronic invoicing, is the digital exchange of invoices between suppliers and buyers over a secured platform that keeps your data safe and private. Unlike unstructured formats (e.g. pdf), only structured invoices qualify for e-invoicing.

Prepare for mandatory e-invoicing in Belgium
E-invoicing is already in place for invoices sent to government entities (B2G), with all public procurement invoices required to be submitted electronically through the internationally recognized Peppol network.
Starting January 1, 2026, all invoices between VAT-registered businesses (B2B) must also be sent via e-invoicing, with Belgium selecting the same Peppol network as a default standard. From 2028, e-invoicing will also be mandatory as the default option for intra-EU transactions.
